Located right next to the arab pavilion. Building designed by Zaha (can’t you tell?). Inside was also a display of Zaha’s 3D printed crazy models. Mostly skyscrapers.

Interesting way of moderating light. Designed by Jean Nouvelle. Also had a good view of Paris and the Seine from a rooftop terrace.

This was my first run through of Paris’ modern art museum; specifically the permanent collection of the 20th century. The place is massive, definitely warranting a second visit. I was wary of the industrial design, but was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked for this style of art.

We had a guided tour through the amazing, gaudy, Opera house of Paris. I’m lucky to be returning for a ballet in early November. Can’t wait!

The entire visit, classical music was pumped out of speakers hidden by bushes. It didn’t feel cheesy however… Really quite nice. Louise XIV had money let me tell ya. An orangerie, boat pond, labyrinths, dancing fountains, and sculptures. A really amazing place.

A day trip to Chartres Cathedral with a three course lunch included! We climbed the bell tower of the cathedral and took glamour shots of each other in the garden labyrinth. Unfortunately the church was under restoration so there was scaffolding and tarps everywhere. You know, the tarp with a photo of the building on it? Not the same.

We had a nice organized tour of the Louvre architecture. Apparently, the louvre palace was built in the 12th century. We were able to go underneath and see the old moat and drawbridge. O and we also saw the Mona Lisa (of course)… From 40 feet away. I saw some tourists get amazing flash photos from this distance. Go buy a postcard. Sheesh.

Our first night we had a tour of the Seine and a three course dinner on a barge across from the Notre Dame… Ending with a super cheesy magic show consisting of every standard magic trick: scarves, cards, metal rings, coins behind the ear, rope tying, and levitation. Can’t say I didn’t like it.
