These were our first cave temples. You reach them by ferry from Mumbai, as they are on their very own island. The main cave had some really impressive stone carvings. Lots of depth and detail. I believe they are from the 4th century. Some Hindu temples and some Buddhist temples. I could write a whole post on the overlapping and western confusion regarding Hinduism and Buddhism.<\/p>\n
